The Reindeer are ready to go!
Two sleeps to go but still some time to fit in some knitting - especially for handmade Christmas gifts! This reindeer took quite a bit longer than I thought it would, as the antlers in particular were a bit fiddly. But he's now good to go and the pattern is up and ready for anyone to have a go at too. He stands independently, and would therefore go nicely on a mantelpiece or sideboard. Or even a decorative Christmas table centrepiece!
Santa's Ready too!
I've also just completed the pattern for a mini santa! This now completes the mini Christmas collection. At 4cm x 7cm, he's a similar size to the knitted angel, knitted snowman and knitted reindeer, making it just the right size for another little hairband for Ellie. Also good for a tree decoration or even serviette rings.
Christmas Trees
I've been busy making all sorts of knitted gifts for my own friends and family, and so I haven't had time to type them all up yet (takes ages!). So although the Christmas tree knitting pattern isn't up and ready just yet, I'm just sharing this sneaky preview, and will complete the pattern with the next couple of weeks. But at least that's still plenty of time for anyone to plan ahead and make a nice little collection ready for Christmas 2019! A knitted Christmas tree is great as a Christmas gift, as it can be easily personalised with a favourite colour tinsel or spots for baubles.

How to Knit A Reindeer
Total time 6 Hours 30 Minutes each
Made from one knitted body piece, one knitted head piece, four knitted leg pieces, and two knitted ear pieces. Eight small lengths of finger-knitting are needed in total, to make up the two antlers, with another small finger-knitted piece for the tail. All pieces are sewn together with added stitching for the facial features.
How to Knit A Santa
Total time 1 Hour 10 Minutes
Made from two separate knitted head pieces. Pieces are sewn together with added stitching for facial features. Optional pin badge, hairband or finger-knitted loop to be sewn on your finished piece, to allow it to be used as an accessory.

Hi Helen – I am so sorry! I’ve just looked into this and I realised that when I was when writing it up I had actually written up the pattern from one of my earlier attempts. (I do make these patterns up and write them down as I go along – if you see the update bit on https://fittinginknitting.co.uk/dancing-on-rainbows/ you can see the previous attempts for this one).
